They have come for a a variety of purposes: Some seeking religious freedom, some to find their fortune, some just wanted a chance at a better life. Some had no choice. To most, America was the land of opportunity and hope. What is it today?

Dan Ringer

Dan Ringer has worked with West Virginia Public Broadcasting as a volunteer since 1987 in several capacities, including as co-host of 2 prior public affairs series - On the Line With ... and Stateline Friday. He has also hosted numerous WV PBS specials concerning education, voters' rights, and political candidate debates. In 1999 Dan was named WV's first Lawyer Citizen of the Year of the WV Bar Foundation. He served as president of the WV State Bar 1999-2000 and was named the Practitioner of the Year by the American Bar Association in 2000. Dan practices law in Morgantown.
